CHURCH - ‘THE MEETING’ BETWEEN 4 WALLS?
-Dr Magara-

When you get to Jubilee Dental, you think serenity, peace and quiet; paradoxically, cavities are the last thing on your mind. The compound at Jubilee Dental is the essence of freshness, of sophistication, of style itself.  Walking to the reception desk instills in one the confidence to trust everything done there, irrespective of whether the pain from the cavity is intense or not. Soft worship music from ‘Hillsong Australia’ plays in the background, making the atmosphere soothing and heavenly.

Dr. James Magara works here primarily as a dentist although he is involved in church leadership and also heads the renowned prayer ministry, ‘Intercessors for Uganda’. He has been married to Lorna Magara for about 18 years now and they have four children ranging from the ages of 16 and 10.

In 1976 while in S.1 at King’s College Budo, Magara gave his life to Christ. He recalls that during that time, the Scripture Union leaders at Budo had strong links with the leadership of Deliverance Church. In December of that year, he attended the Deliverance Church Annual Convention that took place at Makerere College School. That is when he got baptized by immersion, thus becoming an associate of the ministry. All through secondary school he faithfully attended church during holidays and when he joined university in 1982, he became a regular member, to this day. During the last twenty five years of his involvement in ministry, Dr. Magara has had enough experience to study the trend of the church in Uganda and shares his insights on the role of vision in the church in Uganda today.
